Was listening to this podcast with Radhika Gupta (CEO, Edelweiss) who got pregnant at 38 while being the CEO. As she was overwhelmed with taking off for 6 months, her boss told her that being a mother would make her a better leader. 

If he could send her off for 6 months for an executive program then she can very well take that 6 months off without worries. 

This sounded so incredible to me. I am just more curious now to find the specific ways motherhood enhances leadership skills. Please chime in the comments.

So my gf is 24, she feels pretty depressed because she has no sense of direction of what she wants to do with her life, she tried a medical assistant program but hated it. 😕

I want to help her find a good career, so far she’s worked retail but doesn’t want to stay on that path forever, and wants to give school another try eventually. 

For people that have been in her position, what career have you chosen that doesn’t suck the life out of you , is actually somewhat enjoyable , and pays decent ? 💵

I’m a final year student studying BTech in India. I have a foreign internship confirmed from Feb next year. My current intern at a startup is ending.

I’ve been working at this startup for more than 2 years now, poured my heart into it, but due to career growth decisions I had to leave it. 📈
Now I feel so burnt out that I have done less than 6 hours of coding in last 1 week.

I don’t want to start my career with such unprofessional behaviour of mine. 😕😞

I just don’t know what to do to overcome this lazyness. 🤷‍♀️

I want to work in a startup The process fascinates me a lot how they manage things, what kind of people are there how they decide the final product and how they brainstorm on ideas What skills should I have if I want to work in a startup in like 4-5 years

Edit- I'm a fresher but I am a Compère contract based so have experience in that.

Is a career break really that bad in this country?

I feel depressed from working very hard the past 5 years with graduation, Covid, job, etc. I just want to take a few months off and focus on my mental/physical health. I also want tr try out some business/freelancing ideas I have.

My concern is how Career gaps are treated like a stigma in the industry. Like was the use of working so hard and getting qualifications, if I cannot take a few months in between jobs to focus on myself. 
Can someone help me get some perspective?

A meta-cognitive thinking technique I use to live a better life - 

I believe that I'm the protagonist in a play and that the world is my theater. I do what needs to be done to get the story to progress forward. Imagine my life is a play by Anton Chekhov – every action, and every decision is a pivotal scene, shaping the plot. 

I learned this technique during my time in the IIT drama club from a peer (a dramaturgy genius).

✅What will I lose if I don't achieve the respective goal?

✅List down people who can help me achieve those goals.

Advice Needed ⬇️

So for the last month, I was busy with an important project. I forgot about studying and about my health. Now I have exams in 16 days (and have like 30 chapters) and gained like 6 kgs.🤯

Now I am stressing out.
The fact that I have a lot of studying to do makes me stress. This makes me eat more and gain weight. Gaining weight makes me more stressed out because I can't workout while between exams. The fact that I am gaining weight and can't workout distracts me from studying. Due to this, I have lost the last 5 days.

What do I do now?

I was accepted into a program three days ago and have reached my first step of my career goal but I feel so numb and burned out. I have other goals that I have planned in the future but my motivation isn't strong. 😞

I realize this phase will pass and I'll be back on my feet, but NO.

I just.. want to get some words of encouragement.
 My family and friends think I’m doing good and supports me on my journey, but I actually feel very lonely on the inside. 😔
